FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As tournament director for MYB I get many pre-tournament questions asked by coaches that are interested in having their team play in our tournament. Here are a few of the questions and answers that may help your decision about entering our tournament.
Q. How soon do I need to enter the tournament to reserve a place for our team?
A. As soon as possible! Our tournaments always fill up quickly, leaving many teams out of the tournament.
Q. How can I enter our team if we don't have a roster of all the players?
A. Enter into the tournament to reserve your slot, once you have the roster you can email it to us.
Q. My team has players that are 9,10, & 11 years old. Where do we fit into your tournament?
A. Your team would have to play in the 11 year old bracket. Keep in mind that safety for the younger players (playing up) is of utmost importance in a situation like this. Use common sense about where you enter your team.
Q. We are a Little League team and we don't pick our All Stars that would be playing in your tournament until late in the season. What do we do?
A. Fill out registration forms for each separate team you are entering for your organization (ie. 10yr olds , 11yr olds, 12yr olds and 14yr olds). Send a check along with the registration forms and each team will be entered under your organization name. When your teams are picked, email us with the team names and rosters.
Q. What rules will apply to the tournament?
A. Age groups from 9yrs old to 12yrs old will be Cal Ripken Rules; 13yrs thru 15yrs will be Babe Ruth Rules; High School teams will be High School Rules.
Q. Is there any sort of refund if we enter early, then decide to pull out?
A. Yes there is a full refund . If you cancel prior to 14 days before the tournament begins, a full refund is applicable. If you are inside the two week period, and if another team on the waiting list is willing to take your slot, then a full refund is applicable. (In the past we have had as much as 8 to 10 teams in several age groups on a waiting list to enter the tournament.)
Q. What type of umpires do you use?
A. We have paid certified umpires that are highly qualified.
Q. Are there any special game time requests granted?
A. At time of registration please include a note about your special request. We will try to accommodate your team the best we can. (For example, a team coming from out of state doesn't want to play on Friday-- so they don't have to incur additional cost for lodging.)
